Helle hello this is me
So nice to have you around here. Really!
I’m Philippa Markovics (it’s pronounced “Philly-pah Marco-witch”).
Because ‘Markovics’ isn’t complicated enough to pronounce and spell already, my parents naturally decided to give me a first name with at least five different possible spellings — it’s great.
Fortunately, I’m also trans and got to change my first name later in life. Unfortunately, I’m also a ruthless pragmatist, so I decided to just add an ‘a’ to my name and be done with it. It’s ridiculous, really. I mean, come on, it’s ridiculous. I just realized I should have changed it to something else. But hey… what can you do, right? 🤷♀️
I’m currently mostly focused on these things (in no particualar order):
- parenting
- growing, preserving and processing food
- Clerk
- The relationship between change management and software engineering
- dancing with cursors
- exploring computational properties (things that aren’t easily possible outside of your imagination)
- tangible user interfaces
